Disability Pride is a pride movement that celebrates our disabled identity and community. It is not about sexuality and gender. Pride is not exclusively a sexuality-based concept.
Disability pride not a subset of LGBTQIA+ pride, for people with disabilities. There have long been different kinds of pride movements celebrating different identities. Black pride started around the same time as LGBTQIA+ and celebrates racial identity.

There is no conflict between disability pride and LGBTQIA+ pride. There is room for plenty of pride in this world and we all have multiple identities. LGBTQIA+ pride is about sexuality, and disability pride is about disability.

LGBTQIA+ people are not excluded but neither are straight people. Quite the opposite, LGBTQIA+ people have been central to the disability pride movement in Australia. Some people have queer pride and some people have disability pride and some people are double winners!
